Ok, so it's not COMPLETELY falling apart

So tired, but happy because not all people on the planet are evil. After the trip to the coliseum on Sunday, I thought it'd be a good idea to post some needs on the Air America website, then also talk about the needs for evacuees on the air Monday morning from 6-9 am. The show went well, lots of callers and such. I left the station at 9 and went home to call businesses for donations. Then the station called and wanted me back on the air at noon. I head back to the station to do another show, and the station is FULL OF BRAND NEW STUFF! I almost cried. I went back on the air, then left at 2 to drive a U-Haul full of stuff over to the coliseum. It was great. Then back to the station, where we filled up another entire U-Haul. Then back to the coliseum, then back to the station again. I went back on the air from 7-9 pm, and people were STILL coming into the station with donations and money. We cleared out the Target on 45th street and Thomas. Someone gave a check for $1,000. Another person dropped off $500 in cash. One homeless guy gave 2 rolls of dimes.

I love people. Especially the progressive ones who listen to Air America. These people are so wonderful and generous and everything great about the world.

Yesterday I took another U-Haul full of new stuff over, then Stumps and Mirna spent the rest of the day doing the same thing (and had some disasters with the U-Hauls along the way). I also got 5 cell phones, 10 walkie-talkies, and a bunch of tables for the shelter workers. And also some TVs and DVD players. It was fabulous.

Today, I'm exhausted. However, we still need: foot powder, women's bras, large-sixed men's pants, duffel bags, shaving cream, and belts. Also, I need some clothing racks (like at Target) and hangers.
